Tool Build Services

MTD has long been known for its skilled journeyman tool and die makers, educated through a rigorous, state-approved apprentice program. Along with a host of specialized technicians, MTD can successfully complete difficult projects, involving the art of skilled tool making.

Dies are tested in Bruderer high-speed presses. Press bed sizes range from 23” to 57”, tonnage from 15 to 90 and speeds from single stroke to 1200 spm. During the test period any engineering corrections are addressed and tooling prints updated. Customers often request that dies be tested at full production speeds to produce several million parts.

The climate-controlled laboratory provides the ideal environment for 100% mechanical analysis and documentation on every piece of tooling produced. In addition, our quality department offers full Production Part Approval Process, real time statistical process control, reverse engineering capability and is proficient to the ASME y14.5M standard. Finally every instrument at our facility is calibrated in accordance to the ISO Guide 25 standard.
